	dore writes... at 3:54:58pm on 10/9/08 That's definitely a belief of many Deists; I hold the belief that God can and will affect our existence, but in what is important and not trivial human crap. So I believe that he can affect us but that we shouldn't rely on him to or expect to and that it shouldn't guide our actions. Here's a good resource on the basic ideas of Deism, although by nature the religion is up for individual interpretation so none of these beliefs are "required," and in that sense none are universal. http://moderndeism.com/html/deism_defined.html
