Approximately $40000 worth of valuables stolen
Posted on: August 22, 2008, at 06:45:04pm   [5 comments]
Here goes...

I left for school at 8:30. My dad stayed home until 10:00 am. I came home from school at approximately 3:30 pm.

That left our house empty for 5 and a half hours.

When I came home, I didn't find anything suspicious. Went on my computer, forumed FFR for a while, then played the piano until my dad came home. My dad's close friend was preparing dinner for us, then my dad noted my Digital Camcorder. He asked me where it was. I did a casual inspection for my camcorder, and after 10 minutes, made an assumption that it was in the car, somewhere deep in the house or at dad's work.

So we had dinner, then continued looking for it. This was when something was really wrong. Dad found a lone camcorder battery, out of it's sockets.

The battery is never taken out, even for recharging.

We were seriously confused. My dad told me to study, so I got my things and did as I was told. About 10 minutes later, he bursts into my study room and tells me to check if I have my money. I had two weighty coin boxes, one for silver and one for gold coins. It hasn't been moved from the spot for over a year. What would you expect? I was telling my dad to calm down and told him it was there.

So I opened the drawer, and found approximately $2200 worth of coins, missing.

My dad came into my room because he realised that his laptop was missing as well.

Here is the list of stolen valuables:

Digital Camcorder - $1500
Laptop - $5000
Silver Coin Box - $200
Gold Coin Box - $2000
Cash Box - $23000 Note: Good reason why this amount of money is kept in the house, but I do admit it was a bit of a mistake.
Family Coin Box [My dad and myself] - $500
Fake Rolex - $15
My previous Sony Ericsson - $800
My new K850i phone charger - $20
American Dollars - $4000
Indonesian Dollars - AUS$1000
Sony Vaio 4GB USB - $30

Plus a few personal possessions which have gone missing...

That equals to approximately $38000.

The robber used our house key... God knows how he or she figured out where our key was located. Luckily he or she didn't tamper with my $70000 Yamaha piano, which I put myself in responsibililty for the rest of my life. The robber took what they needed; the money and the valuables. Left everything else in it's original state, put the key back where they found it and head off.

Left me without suspicion for 5 hours. I couldn't believe it when I found out my coin box, camcorder and dad's laptop was missing. That's when I went on a serious searching spree and noted down in my head everything goddamn thing missing.

In my timezone over here in Australia, it was between Friday 10:00 am and 3:30 pm.

But I do have my suspects.

There are some "waggers" in our school who normally hang out in Shopping centres most of the school day and return when they feel like it. Yesterday was meant to be an athletics carnival, but it was postponed because of wet weather. What I found at my house was a Driver Safety manual, pointing in the direction of somebody between the ages of 16 and 19. The robbers probably forgot to take it, believe it or not. Yes, some people whom I will never give my personal information to, somehow do have my address. I'd personally wouldn't care; I mean, what more can they do than egg my house?

But after this event, I'm keeping my suspicions in the directions of a group of people in my grade. I've kept the Driver Safety manual as evidence for the police. It definitely wasn't there yesterday morning.

And I am goddamn pissed.

Hey, I hope you are somewhat happy to be subscribed. :) I felt like you really deserved it with all that you do for the community. It was the least I can do after hearing what happened.
See ya around, man.
