Oh, I never said it was a bad choice to make. xD If you stay the course, you'll see that it gets to be really interesting, but there are also accompanying social hardships that will come later on as well. For me, the benefits outweighed the disadvantages, and hopefully it'll be the same for you. :D
With all due seriousness, it's a very interesting choice that you've decided to travel the furry road, but... You might want to expand on your fursona a bit more, especially the name... >.> Fursonas that have traits that match existing characters will come to act like said character, limiting your creativity. Just by changing the name to something more original, you'll see that you'll have much more freedom in how you use your character in RP, and allowing for further advancement in how your fursona can be. :3
